Hotel Review: The Westin Singapore
Introduction | Westin Singapore
Situated on Marina Bay amid Singapore’s cluster of leading technology and financial headquarters, this highly sought-after luxury hotel offers a refined retreat for both business travelers and local residents. During a recent work trip to Singapore I redeemed 118,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for a three-night stay — a notably good value in today’s market. Although commonly classified as a business hotel, the property’s elevated service, contemporary design, and premium amenities position it firmly within the upper-luxury segment. Highlights include an infinity-edge pool with adjoining jacuzzi, a comprehensive fitness centre, and a full-service spa.
Location | Westin Singapore
The Westin Singapore sits in the heart of the city’s commercial and cultural corridor on Scotts Road, a short walk from Orchard Road’s flagship shopping district and its luxury malls, and a few minutes’ drive from the Padang and Marina Bay Sands complex. It’s adjacent to the Orchard Boulevard and Newton neighborhoods, offering easy access to Michelin-starred eateries and hawker fare at Newton Food Centre, while upscale restaurants and cocktail bars cluster along Scotts Road and nearby Tanglin. For arts and entertainment, the Singapore Botanic Gardens are a brief taxi ride away, and the civic and theatre precinct around Victoria and the Esplanade is readily reachable. The hotel is well connected by public transit and offers straightforward links to Changi Airport and the Central Business District, making it convenient for both leisure and business travelers.
Hotel Grounds | Westin Singapore
There are two lobbies - the first one is on the ground floor as you approach the Westin Singapore from your taxi or Grab. The concierge downstairs will then direct you to the 32nd floor, which is where the main lobby is located at. It is considered one of the highest hotel lobbies in Singapore and has some views that anyone would likely enjoy. Here, the Seasonal Taste restaurant and the lounge bar is located here.
Check-in was incredibly pleasant and the front desk agent was so friendly and affable. Since my arrival was earlier than expected, she gave me access to the Club Lounge and also directed me to one of their shower facility, which was a great way to rejuvenate for the day.
Larger Guest Room | Westin Singapore
As a Marriott Platinum Elite member, I was given an upgrade a day before I flew to Singapore and was upgraded to the Larger Guest Room, which features two floor-to-ceiling windows, as the Regular and Deluxe rooms only have one. In terms of actual space, it does seem better due to the massive walkway that the room carries.
The beds at the Westin brand need no introduction but you can bet your last dollar that you’re gonna get a fantastic rest, and the Westin Singapore doesn’t disappoint. They provide lavender aromatherapy balm to help relax you before you sleep, along with solid soundproofing and two tier curtains, blocking out any chance of light to seep into your room.
There are two panels next to each side of the bed in which you will be able to control the lights, as well as other room functions. Controlling the curtains requires another access panel near the windows. I really liked the abundance of natural light (and sometimes a bit too much, haha) from the Larger Guest Room design - you can’t complain about the views at all. If you’re itching to watch TV, then there is a large TV that can be found to swivel to meet your viewing angles.
I really appreciated the massive large work desk by the window as it was perfect for me to get work done during the mornings. Looking out to the Singapore skyline while working does have its vibes. There is also another panel near the desk that features outlets for your electronics. Do note that the outlets here are type G and the standard voltage is 230V. You’ll probably want to bring an adapter or kindly borrow one from the hotel.
Turndown service was immaculate and I found myself each night with a set of dark chocolates and a couple bottles of water, which I’m so thankful for. I drink a ton each day and this was really great to utilize from housekeeping. During my stay, I was given a special welcome amenity gift along with a series of snacks and nuts that I found to be insanely delicious. I was also given a cheesecake that I paired with a Nespresso coffee, making the night super relaxing. It’s a great gesture and I love the hospitality from the front desk and concierge team here.
Bathroom | Westin Singapore
The Westin Singapore’s bathrooms are exceptionally grand — their soaring ceilings and expansive proportions often make them feel like a distinct, separate room. The marble-clad space overlooks the city and, in my room, included a generously sized freestanding bathtub paired with a roomy walk-in shower. An automated blind provides privacy for showering, or can be raised to allow uninterrupted floor-to-ceiling views while you bathe. This also has some of the best shower pressures I’ve experienced and is an absolute delight. A big factor when it comes to the final review score.
The Westin White Tea amenities are among the best I’ve encountered: pleasant, long-lasting and undeniably premium. They may not be as indulgently extravagant as niche brands such as Le Labo or Aesop, but I would happily bring a set home. I really enjoyed this bathroom quite a bit.
Breakfast | Club Lounge
The club lounge here was fantastic. As a Platinum member, I was granted lounge access that served breakfast in the morning, tea time in the afternoon and happy hours at night. The spread isn’t shabby at all - it’s quite generous and there’s even an egg station up there as well. The lounge attendants were fantastic and incredibly friendly. Within a day they recognized who I was and remembered a lot of my preference, which was great.
Breakfast | Seasonal Tastes
I took a day trying the breakfast at Seasonal Tastes and was not disappointed at all. The breakfast spreads are extensive and featured almost every type of Asian breakfast. There is a an plethora of healthy options and a daily fresh juice offering, which I gladly partook in. In addition, there is also an egg station that you can have someone make your omelet or a sunny-side up egg.
Amenities | Westin Singapore
Pools in Singapore are always top notch. Perched with an infinity-edge design, it frames the city vistas and creates a calming sense of continuity between water and skyline. It is at its liveliest in the morning and again in the late evening, with a steady flow of guests: early risers taking laps or stretching into the day, sun-seekers reclining for a tan and families or couples wading and splashing as the city winds down. Convenient lounger arrangements, discreet planting and attentive poolside service help maintain a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere despite the downtown setting.
The fitness centre, located on the 35th floor adjacent to the spa and club lounge, is compact but comprehensively equipped. Cardio machines — treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes with individual screens — line the windows to offer skyline views while you train. A well-stocked selection of free weights, kettlebells and resistance machines supports strength and functional training, and there is ample space for stretching or mat work. Cleanliness and modern equipment further reinforced a premium health-club experience.
The spa, also on the 35th floor, complements the active offerings with a serene, restorative environment. Treatment rooms are softly lit and appointed with calming décor; therapies emphasize signature Westin wellness themes, blending traditional techniques with tailored wellbeing rituals. After an intense session in the gym, the spa’s massages and hydrotherapy options provided excellent recovery — easing muscle tension and helping to transition from exertion to relaxation.
Conclusion | Westin Singapore
Considering the number of points versus the cash price, it represented an insane value for the money and stands as one of the very best Marriott properties in Singapore. Given how competitive the luxury and business hotel market is here, it truly shines thanks to a location that’s ideal for sightseeing or for work. The Marina Bay Sands is literally a stop away or a pleasant 12–15 minute walk. The views are spectacular, the rooms are excellent, and I didn’t even realize we had a spa that’s complimentary for guests! Needless to say, I’m even more excited about returning in the future.
Curated for Class Final Score | 40/50
Even as a business hotel, there are elements of being a modern luxury resort. Competition in Singapore is fierce, but those in the Marriott Family would absolutely love the Westin Singapore given its close proximity to the financial and tech sectors.
