We rate both the flights and lounges out of 40 points, with each focused on four key components.
Airline Reviews
Singapore Airlines 777-300ER First Class, LAX to NRT | 37/40
This may be not extravagant as Singapore Airlines latest suites, but like a classic Porsche 911, this has all the highlights and professionalism to make anyone’s flight one of their most memorable one. This was easily one of the best 1st Class Cabin Crew, along with one of the most outrageous settings we had from our flight to Japan.
Starlux A350-900 Business Class, SFO to TPE | 36/40
Flying with Starlux Airlines is an extraordinary choreograph of soft + hard product, factually distinguished by its futuristic "Galactic" ambiance suites that feature sliding privacy doors and a restorative NASA-inspired Zero-G recline. With its impeccable, Michelin-pedigree dining and a level of cabin service that blends high-tech precision with warm, personalized hospitality, it stands as one of the absolute best ways to cross the Pacific in 2026.
EVA AIR 787-10 Business Class, KIX to TPE | 35/40
EVA AIR dominates the Intra-Asia business class segment with some of the best in-cabin service, food & beverage and an extremely comfortable seat that would easily be utilized for longer flights. For a 2.5 hour flight, this is as extravagant as one could get.
China Airlines 777-300ER Business Class, TPE to NRT | 35/40
For the short hop from TPE to NRT, China Airlines’ business class is as luxurious as it gets, pairing world-class cabin service with seats so comfortable you’ll wish the flight lasted longer than two and a half hours.
China Airlines A350-900 Business Class, SFO to TPE | 34/40
Even after stellar competition from Starlux Airlines and EVA AIR, China Airlines continues to hold itself as a premier business class carrier for those traveling across the Pacific. It’s a fantastic business product with a great cabin crew.
Singapore Airlines A350-900 Business Class, SIN to SFO | 34/40
Flying Singapore Airlines Business Class from Singapore to San Francisco represents the gold standard of ultra-long-haul travel, combining the industry's most spacious seats with a world-renowned "Book the Cook" culinary program. The 15-hour journey is defined by exceptionally attentive service and a refined cabin environment that seamlessly transforms the daunting distance into a restful, premium experience.
Starlux A321NEO Business Class, TPE to SIN | 33.5/40
While I prefer the A350-900 business class seat of Starlux Airlines, the cabin service and food provided far outweighed the seating and ambiance of the aircraft. Soft product matters a lot on these routes Starlux has delivered fantastically on these routes.
Japan Airlines 777-300ER Business Class, HND to SFO | 32.5/40
The Japan Airlines 777-300ER remains a titan of transpacific travel, pairing meticulously prepared Japanese kaiseki dining with the legendary omotenashi hospitality. While the Apex Suite offers exceptional privacy and a top-tier Airweave mattress pad, the cabin’s tech and 2-3-2 layout are beginning to feel like a previous era when compared to the sliding doors and 4K luxury of its newer A350-1000 sibling.
ANA 787-9 Business Class, HND to SIN | 32.5/40
You'll enjoy a much better sense of space compared to the 787-8 business class, as the "Dash 9" typically features an expanded Business Class cabin with more of those coveted window seats in the staggered 1-2-1 layout. While both aircraft deliver the same impeccable five-star service and savory IPPUDO ramen, the 787-9 offers a smoother, quieter ride with a larger footprint that makes the seven-hour regional hop feel like a true long-haul luxury.
ANA 787-8 Business Class, SEA to HND | 31.5/40
The ANA 787-8 Business Class is as Japanese as one can get, serving up Michelin-worthy Washoku cuisine and a cloud-like bedding experience that makes the Pacific crossing feel like a restful spa retreat. However, while the service is fantastic, the previous gen staggered seat design is a bit of a throwback, offering a cozy classic footprint that lacks the sprawling "wow factor" and sliding doors of its newer, more modern siblings.
EVA AIR 777-300ER Business Class, TPE to KIX | 31.5/40
The EVA Air 777-300ER Royal Laurel Class remains a strong regional choice of cabin service and top-tier dining, offering one of the most spacious and private layouts in the sky. While the cabin hardware is starting to show its age compared to newer models, the sheer amount of personal real estate and the warmth of the Taiwanese hospitality continue to make it a highly competitive choice for luxury travelers looking for a deal across Intra-Asia.
United POLARIS Business Class, SFO to LHR | 31.5/40
United Polaris offers a premier travel experience defined by its excellent cabin crew and a top-tier seat that excels for sleep, despite a meal service that often feels uninspired. It remains a highly reliable choice for the long-haul journey to Europe, prioritizing comfort and service over gourmet dining.
Hawaiian Airlines A330 Business Class, HNL to NRT | 28.5/40
The A330 business class for Hawaiian Airlines is definitely showing its age, no matter how you look at it. Great service, but the hard product and food remains to be areas of improvement, and if they want to compete against JAL and ANA for the Tokyo routes, then they better figure it out soon.
Air Canada 787-9 Business Class, LHR to YYZ | 28.5/40
Air Canada Business Class is similar to a Lexus ES300, it gets the job done great, just remarkably boring. Great for the price, but compared to its counterparts, I’m okay with it.
Lounge Reviews
Star Alliance 1st Class Lounge, LAX | 34.5/40
Star Alliance’s 1st Class Lounge presents a compelling luxury lounge option out of LAX, offering a private, discreet and exceptionally exclusive lounge environment reserved solely for First Class ticket holders (expect random celebrities and CEOs at this lounge), an experience only a few select travelers will ever enjoy.
Starlux Airlines Galactic Lounge, TPE Terminal 2 | 33/40
Immerse yourself in a galactic experience and a bold take on what a business class should be like. The basics are nailed perfectly, and there is ample room for all travelers to either rest up or relax during their stay. EVA and China Airlines will have to step it up a bit if they want to compete on the lounge front.
United POLARIS Lounge at SFO, Terminal G | 32.5/40
Probably the best international business class lounge in the West Coast for Star Alliance travelers - highly recommended and recommend folks get there early to enjoy the lounge at its best. Elegant and modern, with all the right services.
SilverKris Business Lounge at LHR, Terminal 2 | 32.5/40
KrisFlyer Business Class Lounges are always at the top of their game, and the one here at London Heathrow is just another prime example of Singapore Airlines takes care of its business class travelers. Tons of lounge space, great food and great amenities make for a satisfying lounge.
SilverKris Business Lounge at SIN, Terminal 2 | 32/40
KrisFlyer Business Class Lounges consistently set a high standard, and the facility at Changi International Airport in Singapore exemplifies Singapore Airlines’ commitment to its business-class passengers. I think their food options could be a bit better compared to some of its peers in the same airport.
Centurion Lounge at SEA, Central Terminal | 31.5/40
If you have the Amex Platinum Card, this is must-go for your early flights or for a night flight. The food is an absolute joy here, and the coffee bar is one of the best. I just wished it wasn’t crazy packed during the mornings.
Alaska Airlines Lounge at SFO, Terminal 1 | 31.5/40
Alaska Airlines Lounges gets the basics right and adds just the right. perks to make this a great business class domestic lounge. Paid food options is a bit odd but the barista-made coffee is absolutely the great selling point. Great job, Alaska Airlines.
Alaska Airlines Lounge at SEA, North Satellite | 31/40
A comfortable and well-thought out lounge, I’d be particularly happy if I’m flying out of the N-Satellite concourse at Sea-Tac. Is it worth traveling all the way here for the lounge? Probably not. Maybe if you’re a die-hard coffee fan, perhaps.
