Lounge Review: Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge Changi at Terminal 2

Introduction | Silverkris Lounge, Terminal 2

Singapore Airlines is one of the world’s best airlines and features some of the best airport lounges in the world. During my return trip back home, I was given access to their business class lounge in Terminal 2, which is a relatively smaller lounge compared to their Terminal 3 one. Because of my flight routes from SIN to HND via ANA, I was given access as part of the Star Alliance program.

To get there, you’ll need to first find the escalator located beside the Lotte Duty-Free Wines & Spirits store. After clearing immigration counters (if you’re coming in from terminal 2), turn left and you should spot the escalators that lead you to level 3 pretty quickly. It’s a relatively easy path up to the lounge after passing immigration.

Access | SilverKris Lounge, Terminal 2

There are two main tiers of lounges in Singapore. The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge for Krisflyer Gold and Star Alliance Gold members flying in Economy Class. Premium passengers as well as PPS Club members are invited to the SilverKris Lounge instead. You will then be able to access either the Business Class Lounge, First Class Lounge or The Private Room. PPS Solitaire members are invited to the First Class lounge.

On the other hand, the Private Room is reserved exclusively for passengers flying in First Class / Suites on Singapore Airlines metal only. Star Alliance First Class pax are ushered to the First Class lounge instead. Arriving passengers from a Singapore Airlines First Class, Suites or PPS Solitaire passengers can also access the facility. This means that this lounge is usually only used by Star Alliance First Class Passengers and PPS Solitaire members. As of this moment, only Lufthansa and Swiss Air offer First Class out of Singapore.

The Lounge | SilverKris Lounge, Terminal 2

An elegant foyer for the SilverKris lounges splits into two entrances, the left for the Business Class section and the right for First Class. This review only covers the business class section, as I had no access to First Class during my trip. Once inside you’ll find the self-service food and beverage section to the left side, with the toilets and showers beyond that.

Interestingly enough, the ambience of this lounge couldn’t be more different than the newly renovated T3 SilverKris Business lounge, with this T2 facility featuring dim lighting and dark colors, make it quite sultry. The lack of any windows, even with internal views, is a slight disappointment, as it would have been more airy and open to all guests.

This business class lounge predominantly offers the usual armchair-style seating, with a few different designs including all-leather, mixed leather and fabric, and all-fabric deigns. Seats are set in pairs or trios along the sides main lounge area, or longer rows in the middle section, with different colors used in some places to break up the space a little. Seats in the main lounge that are closest to the dining section are better lit, thanks to opaque screens separating them from that zone, rather than a solid wall.


Food and Beverage | Silverkris Lounge, Terminal 2

The SilverKris Lounge’s food options are offered as a buffet. It has a good variety of international selections, with a higher focus on Asian cuisine. It has a smaller food selection compared to its bigger brother in Terminal 3. However, you do get Singaporean favorites like noodle dishes made to order, which was a nice touch.

Alcohol and drinks selection seem to be similar. Although Charles Heidsieck is served here which is the same as the one SQ served onboard. And as a norm you can find TWG teas in the lounge as well. Nothing beats having a cup of TWG and a cup of coffee together. Overall, it was a great experience, but not a mind-blowing one compared to its rivals.

Interestingly, they have a kids menu with nuggets and fries cooked to order. Sounds like the best food ever in the lounge, though I was a bit embarrassed to order one, haha.

Shower Room | Silverkris Lounge, Terminal 2

As with most Asian business class lounges, shower options are available. There are 4 shower rooms in the male toilet, and none of them were occupied. This is a stark contrast to most other airport lounges with shower rooms where you’ll need to get a number and wait for a long time to use them. (I’m looking at you, ANA business class lounge) The shower room is well-equipped with shower amenities, clean towels and mouthwash. Oddly enough, I hoped that the space was a little larger though as there weren’t any available spaces to put bags and luggage.

The SilverKris Business Class Lounge in Terminal 2 at Changi Airport delivers a refined and restful transit experience. The ambiance balances contemporary elegance with warm touches — muted palettes, comfortable seating zones and generous natural light create a calm, sophisticated atmosphere ideal for both work and relaxation. Service is polished and unobtrusive; staff are attentive, efficient and consistently professional, making check-in, dining requests and seating needs feel effortless. Amenities are comprehensive for a long-haul traveler: a well-curated buffet and à la carte options, quiet workstations, private rest areas and refresh facilities maintain high standards, while reliable Wi‑Fi and charging points keep productivity uninterrupted. Overall, the lounge offers a cohesive blend of comfort, functionality and discreet luxury that complements Singapore Changi’s reputation as a world-class transit hub.

Ultimately, the Silverkris Lounge at Terminal 2 is a good premium cabin lounge, but when compared to its counterparts across the Changi Airport, it slightly pales in comparison when it comes some of the food options. Ambience is a key consideration, and I believe Singapore Airlines could have enhanced the experience by incorporating elements more reflective of its distinctive brand character.. Nevertheless, it’s still a great place to unwind for an hour or two if you’re transiting across Asia.

KrisFlyer Business Class Lounges consistently set a high standard, and the facility at Changi International Airport in Singapore exemplifies Singapore Airlines’ commitment to its business-class passengers. I think their food options could be a bit better compared to some of its peers in the same airport.
